About the Apraxia Apps

Talk Tales story apps are designed by Vanessa Zimmer-Powell, Speech Language Pathologist and co-founder of The Learning Sphere Speech Therapy in Houston, Texas. Vanessa  has been as speech-language pathologist for over 20 years and has helped many children who have great difficulty saying words and sounds.

The apps were inspired by her wiggly friends with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and with Autism, but are also designed to appeal to all children learning to say words and say them clearly.

quote

“I love the apraxia app!!! Talk Tales, Simple Sounds is very engaging for many children! I started using the app with a child who was nonverbal.  After doing several trials with the app, the child started saying "whee" while going down the slide. His parents and I were very excited!""
